Recently at my church women’s meeting, we had some discussion about our walk with God in our every day lives. We talked about scenarios where we women oftentimes struggle with circumstances of life and ways we can safeguard our hearts and minds so these circumstances don’t get us down or cause us to stray from the God we love.
We talked about bowing before Him, in awe of who He is and what He has done. I got to thinking about an acronym for the word BOW.
The Bible says that in order to please God, we must first Believe that He exists. Hebrews 11:6, “But without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He exists, and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him.”
The Bible also tells us to Obey His Word. Deuteronomy 11:26-27, “Behold, I set before you today a blessing and a curse: the blessing, if you obey the commandments of the Lord your God which I command you today.” Acts 5:29 states, “…We ought to obey God rather than men.”
And in addition, the Bible says we must Worship Him in spirit and in truth. John 4:23 in the words of Jesus says, “But the hour is coming, and now is, when the true worshippers will worship the Father in spirit and truth; for the Father is seeking such to worship Him.”
So, in all areas of our lives we need to remember to B.O.W. before God our Maker, our Savior, our Lord!!
