Does my Work count for Eternity?

Do we use our God-given talents each and every day?  I believe that God is pleased with us when we commit our talents to Him, using them to better the lives of those around us.  God cannot help but be pleased when we perform our work to the best of our ability in service to those who benefit from it.

During His time on earth, Jesus was first a carpenter.  He learned his trade from his earthly father working with wood and stone.  He did this for 30 years before beginning his ministry, and the bible states in Matthew 3:17 that God said, “This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased.”  I believe God was pleased with the example Jesus set for us, the example of doing our very best in our work.

So, to answer the question posed by this blog post, “does my work count for eternity?” I would answer, absolutely, YES IT DOES!!  Everything we do in life has an impact on eternity.  We will be rewarded for our faithfulness to godly principles in our life, in our work, in our homes, in our families, in our finances.  Whatever God has entrusted to us He expects us to take good care of, and whatever talents He gives us He expects us to use to the fullest, and that includes our work.
