Maybe you sense God calling you to serve Him in all that you do. I know I do. But being called to serve God doesn’t mean we abandon everything we are already doing in order to serve Him. God uses us right where we are in life to serve Him according to His plan for our lives and for those around us.
Robert Schuller from the Crystal Cathedral coined the phrase, “Bloom where you are planted!” I personally have always like that phrase because to me it means that wherever I am in life, whatever it is I am called to do, even whatever it is I LIKE to do and CHOOSE to do, I can “bloom” right where I am “planted” and therefore please God and honor Him in my work and every area of my life.
Maybe you have a vocation you love, and maybe you sense God calling you to do more for Him. Well, seek out ways you can use your talents, skills, and those things you enjoy and are passionate about in ways that minister to and provide service to those people around you. As you serve others, you also serve God.
“In the workplace the witness comes in a form that cannot be tuned out like a radio program, it can’t be zapped like a TV broadcast, it can’t be thrown away like a Bible tract, it can’t be turned down like an invitation to a concert. The person yet to accept Christ as their personal Savior can tune almost anything out, but he or she can’t tune out the spectacle of the Christian living in the power of the Spirit day by day, hour by hour, crisis by crisis at work.”
